About review.dental

Who writes this site

review.dental is written by a practicing dentist who also builds dental software — the team behind Intake.Dental. That's a conflict of interest, and we'd rather state it in the first paragraph than let you discover it in the footer. The reason this site exists anyway: most dental software "reviews" online are affiliate listicles written by people who have never verified an insurance eligibility, chased a broken PMS sync at 5pm, or explained an AI's false-positive caries call to a patient. We have.

How we handle the conflict

  • Every page carries the disclosure banner you saw at the top. It's built into the site's layout — a page physically cannot ship without it.
  • Reviews of our own product are labeled "This is our own product" at the top of the page.
  • In comparisons involving our product, we say plainly when the competitor is the better fit — and for many practices, it is. A practice that lives inside Dentrix with 15 VoIP handsets has different needs than one that wants AI-first front-office automation.
  • We review the whole market, including categories where we don't compete at all (AI imaging, cloud PMS).

How we review

  • Verified facts, dated. Every page shows a "facts verified" date. Pricing, FDA clearance status, and integration lists are checked against primary sources — vendor pricing pages, the FDA's 510(k) database, and vendor integration documentation — on that date.
  • Sources linked. Where a number comes from third-party reporting rather than the vendor, we say so and link it.
  • Weaknesses from real users. We synthesize criticism from Capterra, G2, Software Advice, Reddit, and Dentaltown rather than inventing balanced-sounding cons.
  • No pay-to-play. Vendors cannot pay for placement, scores, or softer language. There are no affiliate links to reviewed vendors on this site.

What this site is not

review.dental reviews software for dental professionals. It does not review dentists or dental practices, does not host patient reviews, and does not provide dental or medical advice.

Corrections

If you're a vendor and we've got a fact wrong, email us with a source and we'll fix it and update the verified date. Being correctable is the whole point of dating our claims.
